About Cactus Air Designs
Cactus Air Designs is Terrie and Gene. We laser cut, engrave and handcraft gifts and décor out of our Arizona studio – one piece at a time, held to one standard: if we wouldn’t give it to our own family, it doesn’t leave our hands.
It Started Long Before the Laser
Terrie has been making things her whole life. It started in high school — Christmas wreaths with her mom, painted knick-knacks, anything she could get her hands on. The making part was never the question. The medium just kept evolving. She went through a glitter epoxy tumbler phase. Beautiful results, brutal process. Then sublimation looked promising — until lining up the top and bottom seam became its own part-time job. That wasn’t it either.
Then came the lasers. First a GlowForge. The laser tube had other plans. Then an OmTech that never quite felt right. So she and Gene started saving — and eventually brought home Dusty Rose, the machine that changed everything. Then Sedona came along (won, not bought — that kind of luck you don’t question). Two lasers, a whole lot of ideas, and a quality bar that hasn’t moved an inch.

The Other Half of This Operation
Gene works with his hands. He builds cornhole boards and bags — the kind people actually fight over at backyard parties. He’s been at it long enough that he’s ready to branch out, and Cactus Air is where that happens next. Hats and hat patches are coming. Wood items too. Some of it will be Terrie at the laser. Some of it will be Gene at the press. A lot of it will be both of us figuring it out together, which is honestly how we like it.

Our One Rule
We’re not a warehouse. We don’t dropship. We don’t cut corners to move more units. Every piece that leaves this studio was made by one of us — and it gets held to one question before it goes anywhere: would we give this to our mom? Our dad? Someone we actually care about? If the answer is no, it doesn’t ship. Simple as that. We’d rather make fewer things and make them right than fill boxes with stuff we’re not proud of. That’s not a marketing line. That’s just how we operate.
