We create the detailed front from natural maple plywood and pair it with a darker cherry plywood backing. Stars and flag stripes cut through the maple to reveal the cherry underneath. The contrasting wood tones give the scene depth without paint or stain.
The ornament measures approximately 3.5 inches wide by 3.8 inches tall. We attach a brown cord so it arrives ready to hang. Display it on a Christmas tree, ornament stand, wall hook, or in a classroom or space-themed collection.

Putting the moon landing into a small wood design called for plenty of fine detail. We engraved the astronaut, spacesuit, flag, lunar surface, and Earth while using two contrasting wood layers to keep every part of the scene easy to see.
🪵 Natural Wood Layers
- The front layer is premium maple plywood, chosen for its lighter tone and clear engraved detail.
- The back layer is premium cherry plywood, creating warm contrast through the flag and star openings.
- Each layer is approximately 1/8 inch thick and has real wood veneer with a wood core.
- The wood has a natural, supplier-applied protective finish. We add no stain or additional clear coat.

- We precision-cut and engrave each ornament in our Arizona studio on Dusty Rose, our CO2 laser.
- Fine engraving defines the astronaut’s spacesuit, the American flag, the lunar surface, and Earth overhead.

❤️ Returns & Damage
Because each piece is made to order, all sales are final and we do not accept returns or exchanges. If your ornament arrives damaged during shipping, contact us within five business days of delivery and include photographs of both the product and its packaging. We will assist with the carrier claim and work to make it right. If damage results from our workmanship, we will replace the affected piece.
