My dad drove that road between California and Nebraska long before I settled in Arizona. For me, this ornament holds more than highway history — it carries a memory.

The iconic highway shield rises from the center, surrounded by engraved stars and cut-through details that let the darker cherry show through the maple. The border reads “United States of America” above and “250 Years of Freedom” below — connecting the Mother Road to the country it helped travelers discover.
Each one is laser-cut from premium maple and cherry plywood right here in our Arizona studio. It arrives with a brown cord, ready to hang on the tree, the rear-view mirror, or the wall of your road trip memorabilia shelf. No personalization on this one; the shield says everything it needs to say.

- Materials: Handcrafted from premium maple and cherry plywood — real wood veneer on the top and bottom with a solid wood core in the middle. Significantly lighter than MDF and built to sit on your shelf for years without warping.
- Layer breakdown: The back layer is premium cherry plywood — warm and darker in tone, it shows through wherever the maple front is cut away. The front layer is premium maple — lighter and laser-engraved with the Route 66 shield, surrounding text, and cut-through star details along the border. The contrast between the two woods is what gives this piece its depth.
- Construction: Precision laser-cut in our Arizona studio on Dusty Rose, our CO2 laser. The design includes both engraved elements and full cut-throughs — so the cherry layer reads through in exactly the right spots.
- Finish: Natural only — no stain, no color added. The protective finish is pre-applied by the supplier. Screen colors may look slightly different depending on your monitor and lighting; the wood grain and tone are the real deal.
- Cord: Brown cord included — hang it right where it belongs.
