Okay, let’s talk about what’s actually going on here because it’s kind of a big deal. This isn’t one piece of wood with a pretty picture on it. It’s FIVE or SIX (your choice) separate laser-cut layers, each one doing its own job. We handcraft this 3D wall art using premium maple plywood because it features a real wood veneer top and bottom, alongside a solid wood core for consistent laser cutting, maximum stability, and a much lighter weight than heavy MDF. This cross-layered structure prevents warping, allowing us to achieve incredibly precise, intricate laser cuts that remain perfectly flat over time.

  • Made-to-order means it takes a little time. Our typical turnaround time is 5–7 business days—good things are worth waiting for.

What is the difference between the 5-layer and 6-layer closed back?

The 5-layer open back has no backing panel — the layers float in front of the wall, which gives it a super clean, airy look and lets the wall color show through. The 6-layer closed back adds a solid backing panel behind the design, which gives it more of a finished, framed feel and slightly more depth. The closed back also makes it easier to move around since everything stays together as one unit. The open back is the more popular choice, but it really comes down to your wall and your style. There's a small upcharge for the 6-layer closed back.
Does it come ready to hang, or do I need to find my own hardware?

It comes ready to hang. Each piece includes built in hangers but nails and screws are not included. If you ever have questions about the best way to hang it for your specific wall type, just shoot me a message.
Will the stain color look exactly like it does on my screen?

Probably close, but not guaranteed exact. Every screen displays color a little differently, and more importantly, real wood absorbs stain differently depending on the grain — so two pieces cut from the same sheet can take color slightly differently. That natural variation is part of what makes handcrafted wood beautiful, but it does mean your piece may look slightly richer or lighter than what you see on screen. If you're unsure about a color, message me before you order and I'm happy to talk you through it.
Can I request a design that isn't in the current collection?

Custom designs are something I'm always open to chatting about — reach out through the contact page and let me know what you have in mind. I can't promise every idea is workable, but I love a good challenge and I'll always give you an honest answer about what's possible.
How is this different from wall art I'd find at a big box store?

What you'll find at a big box store is mass-produced, machine-stamped, and made to a price point — not a quality point. Every piece I make is laser-cut and assembled by hand in my shop in Tonopah, Arizona using premium hardwood plywood — real wood veneers over a wood core, which gives it the beauty of natural wood grain with excellent stability and consistency. No two pieces look exactly identical because no two pieces of wood are exactly identical. You're getting something made by a real person who actually cares how it turns out — and that's just not something a shelf at a chain store can offer.
