Wolf Wall Art That Actually Stops You in Your Tracks

This isn't background decor. This is a statement.

The wolf is built for people who want their space to have actual personality — not a curated, safe-for-all-audiences version of it. Real edge. Real depth. Real presence.

Six individual layers of laser-cut plywood, stained and stacked into a three-dimensional piece that commands a wall the way it's supposed to. The geometric rectangular mosaic background creates the architecture. The wolf cuts through it — precision cut down to every curve of the mandala detailing in the fur, every line in the paws, every clean edge of the silhouette.

Two color combinations. Neither one is subtle and neither one is trying to be.

      • Cactus Bloom — deep terracotta red woven through a rich mosaic of near-black, warm brown, cool grey, and natural maple. The kind of combination that looks like it belongs somewhere with stone walls and low lighting.
      • Deep Canyon — rich navy blue through that same mosaic. Bold, moody, and completely unforgettable.

Can't decide? No shame in the DM game — we're happy to help you pick.

You've got two options to choose from — pick your color combination and your backer style. Both decisions are made right on this page before you add it to your cart.

Handcrafted in Arizona. Not a kit. Not a print. Made to be noticed.

      Make It Yours

      1. Choose Your Color Combination

      • Cactus Bloom — deep terracotta red woven through a mosaic of near-black, warm brown, cool grey, and natural maple. Bold, warm, and unapologetically dramatic.
      • Deep Canyon — rich navy blue through that same mosaic. Same wolf, cooler mood.

      2. Choose Your Backer

      • Open Back — the center of the backer is cut away so your wall color shows through the design. If your wall is a color you love, it becomes part of the art.
      • Closed Back — a full solid panel behind the piece for bold contrast and a completely finished look from every angle. Small up-charge, selected at checkout.

      Behind the BuildBehind the Build

Each layer is laser-cut right here in Arizona on Dusty Rose, our CO2 laser. We use premium maple plywood — real wood veneer on top and bottom, solid Basswood core through the middle — for cuts that stay flat, edges that stay sharp, and a finished piece significantly lighter than MDF without losing any structural integrity.

The wolf spans six precisely cut layers. The geometric mosaic background is built from four stained colors working together — Midnight Mesa's near-black, Aged Barrelwood's warm medium brown, Silver Mesa's cool grey, and Natural Maple's pale natural tone. Your accent color, Cactus Bloom's deep terracotta red or Deep Canyon's rich navy blue, weaves through that mosaic and ties the whole piece together. The wolf silhouette sits proud of the background in Natural Maple, and the mandala detailing cut through its layers lets the colors below show through — so the more you look, the more you see.

That detailing isn't surface engraving — it's cut completely through each layer on the laser. Genuine light-and-shadow detail that shifts depending on where the light hits the piece.

The keyhole hangers are precision laser-cut directly into the back panel — one on each upper corner. Two drywall nails and it hangs level without any measuring.

This is what layered wood wall art looks like when it's made to have an attitude.

      Treat SomeoneTreat Someone

You already know who this is for. They don't do generic. Their walls actually say something about them — or should.

This piece fits naturally anywhere with cabin, lodge, mountain, or western energy. But it works just as well in a living room, home office, or any space that needs something bold and real on the wall. If you live in the country, love the outdoors, or just have a thing for wolves — this one's for you.

      Great for:

      • Wolf lovers who can tell the difference between a poster and a handcrafted piece
      • Anyone who loves wildlife, nature, or western-inspired decor
      • The person who's impossible to shop for but has strong opinions about their space
      • Dad, Grandpa, Mom, or anyone who loves the outdoors
      • Father's Day, birthdays, Christmas, or housewarming
      • Treating yourself — because your walls deserve it too

Want to build out a coordinated wildlife look? The Woodland Wildlife Candle Holders pair naturally with this piece for a room that tells a story. (link opens in new window)

A Few Things to KnowA Few Things to Know

It's tough but it's wood, so let's treat it right:

      • Dust gently with a soft dry cloth — put the Windex down.
      • Keep her out of direct sunlight so those stain colors stay gorgeous.
      • Skip the bathroom — humidity and layered wood art are not friends.
      • Indoor use only (she's not an outdoor girl).
      • Hangs on two standard drywall nails — no tools, no measuring, done in 60 seconds.

Every piece is handcrafted to order by real humans in our Arizona studio — hi, that's me, Terrie. So here's the deal:

      • Wood grain varies piece to piece. That's not a flaw, that's character. Embrace it.
      • Screen colors and real life colors are cousins, not twins. Your piece may vary slightly from what you see on screen.
      • Our typical turnaround is 7–10 business days — good things are worth waiting for.
      • All sales final on made-to-order items. If something arrives wrong, reach out and we'll make it right.

      Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between 5-layer and 6-layer closed back?

The 5-layer version has an open back, allowing your wall color to show through and become part of the design. The 6-layer version adds a solid plywood backer for stronger contrast and a bolder, more finished appearance. Both versions hang the same way.

Does it come ready to hang, or do I need to find my own hardware?

Yes. A laser-cut hanger is built directly into the back of the artwork. It hangs on a standard picture nail. Nails and screws are not included.

How is this different from wall art I'd find at a big box store?

Each piece is laser cut, stained (if needed), assembled, and finished by me in my Arizona studio using premium hardwood plywood. It is made from real wood veneer over a wood core rather than heavy MDF, and every piece has natural variations in grain and color.

Will the stain color look exactly like it does on my screen?

It should be close, but screens display color differently and real wood absorbs stain according to its grain. Your piece may appear slightly lighter, darker, or richer than it does on your screen.

How long does it take to ship my wood product?

Production time is 5 to 10 business days after then cancellation period has passed . Shipping time is additional.

      How do I clean it?

Dust it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use sprays, cleaners, or moisture.

      Is it heavy?

No. The premium maple plywood is much lighter than MDF while still providing a sturdy, layered construction.
