Somewhere in the Black Hills of South Dakota, four presidents are carved into a mountain big enough to see from miles away. I'm a little more modest — I carved mine into Premium Maple plywood, about 3.5 inches wide. Same four faces, same incredible detail, thanks to Dusty Rose and a whole lot of laser precision.
Mount Rushmore is one of those American landmarks that hits different in person. Washington's resolve, Jefferson's vision, Roosevelt's grit, Lincoln's grace — all four of them looking out over a country they each helped shape in completely different ways.
