The Stag Deer Woodland Candle Holder walked in like he owns the place — and honestly, now he kind of does. Those antlers, that proud stance — this freestanding laser-cut piece is the one that makes people stop and stare. And then ask where you got it.

Dusty Rose, my CO₂ laser, cuts every detail right here in Arizona from premium maple, walnut, and cherry plywood. No stains, no dyes — just natural wood sealed with a light clear coat. The grain on every piece is different, giving each stag his own character (yes, this one gets "he/him" energy — those antlers earned it).

The 2-layer design (no walnut - trees in the middle) is handsome with classic maple-and-cherry contrast. But the 3-layer? That walnut middle makes the antler detail absolutely unreal — shadows, depth, dimension. This is the one people upgrade. Candle not included.

The Build ~ How it is Made

Each Woodland Wildlife Candle Holder is laser-cut right here in Arizona. We use premium maple, cherry, and walnut plywood — real wood veneer on the top and bottom, solid basswood core — for cuts that stay crisp, edges that stay clean, and a finished piece that's significantly lighter than MDF and built to last without warping.

The arch front panel is cut from natural maple plywood, with layered depth panels in rich walnut and warm cherry creating that dimensional forest scene behind each wildlife design. The engraved detail on the animal figure is burned directly into the surface — no paint, no vinyl, no stickers. Just the laser doing what it does.

Two build options:

2-Layer — Front arch panel + base platform. Clean, classic, and a little more minimalist.
3-Layer — Adds a mid-depth layer behind the front panel for more shadow, more dimension, and that full layered-forest look.

All pieces are finished with a pre-applied clear coat on the plywood for lasting protection right out of the box.

Keep it Pretty ~ Care & Display

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth.
Keep away from moisture and damp areas.
LED candles are strongly recommended (not included).
If using a real candle, always use a heat-resistant glass hurricane sleeve or glass chimney (not included) right on top of the base. This acts as a protective shield between the open flame and the wood structure. Never leave an open flame unattended and always keep heat away from the wood.
Display on a stable, flat surface away from direct sunlight to preserve the wood's natural beauty.

What size candle fits on these holders?

These are designed for a standard pillar or LED candle that sits on the platform on top of the holder. LED candles are my top recommendation — they're safe, they last forever, and the warm glow they cast down over the laser-cut design is absolutely beautiful. Real pillar candles work too, just never leave them unattended.

Can I use real candles, or does it have to be LED?

Both work — the candle sits on the platform on top of the holder. That said, LED pillar candles are what I recommend for everyday use. The warm glow cascading down over that laser-cut animal silhouette looks incredible and you get zero open flame worry. If you use a real candle, never leave it burning unattended.

How does the light effect actually look?

Picture a warm glowing candle sitting on top of the holder, casting soft light down over the laser-cut animal silhouette below it — the shadows and glow play off the layered wood design in a way that's genuinely breathtaking in a dim room. It's the kind of thing you put on a mantle and guests ask about immediately.

Can I mix and match animals for a set?

That's actually one of my favorite ways to use them. Just add each animal you want to your cart individually and they'll ship together. A trio of animals on a mantle or windowsill looks incredible with candles glowing over each one. Orders over $200 ship free to the Lower 48, so if you're building a set it's worth keeping that in mind.

Are the handmade in the USA?

Every single one — cut, engraved, and assembled by hand in my shop in Arizona studio. I run every piece through the laser myself and put them together one at a time. These aren't factory-made and they're not dropshipped. They're made by a real person in a real shop who genuinely loves what she does.
