The Weasel Woodland Candle Holder is the one nobody expects to be their favorite — and then suddenly is. This freestanding laser-cut piece captures the weasel's slinky, curious energy with intricate detail work that looks incredible by candlelight.

Dusty Rose, my CO₂ laser, cuts every detail right here in Arizona from premium maple, walnut, and cherry plywood. No stains, no dyes — just natural wood tones with a light clear coat for protection. Natural grain variation means every weasel is unique (slippery little originals, all of them).

The 2-layer is clean and charming with maple and cherry. The 3-layer adds walnut depth that gives all that slinky detail real pop. Personalization is available if you want a name, a date, or a short message worked into the piece — makes it a gift that actually means something, not just something pretty on a shelf. She's small, she's unexpected, and she's absolutely worth it. Candle not included.

Weasel Woodland Wildlife Candle Holder, Laser-Cut in Arizona

Every Woodland Wildlife Candle Holder starts as flat sheets of premium plywood and comes out the other side as something you actually want to display. That process happens on Dusty Rose, our CO2 laser, right here in our Arizona studio.

The front layer is premium maple plywood — real wood veneer on top and bottom with a solid basswood core. It cuts clean, stays flat, and takes the laser detail without burning out or warping. The back layer is cherry plywood, which adds warm contrast even on the two-layer version. Add the three-layer option and a walnut middle drops in between — that dark walnut against the lighter maple is what gives all that slinky weasel detail its real depth and dimension.

The candle platform on top is engraved with the same pine cone and botanical pattern as the base, so the whole piece reads as one cohesive design. Your choice of exposed tab or hidden tab changes the look of that platform from the side — exposed shows the structural tab as a design detail, hidden keeps it completely flush.

A Few Things to Know

Display: Indoors only

Avoid: Moisture, humidity, extreme heat, and prolonged direct sunlight

Cleaning: Dust with a soft dry cloth — no sprays, no damp cloths

Candle: LED candles are recommended. If using a real candle, that is your call — use common sense and never leave it unattended.

Wood variation: Natural grain, tone, and slight color differences between pieces are normal. Real wood does that. It is character, not a defect. Wood coloring may also appear slightly different depending on your screen settings and lighting — what you see on your phone may look a little different than in person.

Need to cancel or fix a personalization error? Reach out within 12 hours of ordering and I'll do my best to catch it — as long as production hasn't already started. After that, all sales are final — so double-check your personalization text before you submit. If I make a mistake on my end, I will absolutely fix it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a special candle for this holder? ＋

The platform opening is approximately 3 inches in diameter. A standard pillar candle or 3-inch LED candle fits perfectly. We recommend an LED candle — it is safer around wood, lasts longer, and gives a beautiful warm glow through the layered design. Candle is not included with the holder.

Is the wood stained or painted? ＋

Neither. The candle holders are made from natural maple, walnut, and cherry plywood that arrives pre-finished with a clear coat applied by the supplier. No stains, no dyes, no paint — just the natural wood tones sealed and protected. What you see is the real color of the wood, which is part of what makes each piece unique.

Will my Candle Holder look exactly like the one in the photos? ＋

Close — but not identical, and that is actually a good thing. These are made from real wood, and every piece of plywood has its own grain pattern, tone, and natural character. Your piece will have the same design, the same quality, and the same care that went into the one in the photos — it just might have a slightly different grain story. Wood coloring may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings and lighting.

Made a mistake on your personalization? Reach out to terrie@cactusairdesigns.com within 12 hours of placing your order and I will do my best to catch it before production starts. After that window, all personalized and made-to-order sales are final. If I make a mistake on my end, I will make it right — full stop.

Production time is 5 to 10 business days after then cancellation period has passed . Shipping time is additional.
